Linda Cheek is a plein air artist who works in both oil and pastel and has earned wide recognition with an unusual mix of both impressionistic and realistic styles. She is a true and dedicated plein-air-artist working on location in the beautiful country of the Southern Highlands of the Appalachian Mountains, the Smoky Mountains National Park, and along the Blue Ridge Parkway; all near her home and studio in Western North Carolina.

Cheek has shown in the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York City where she has twice won the annual George Gray Award in national competitions and she is presently in the permanent collection of the Salmagundi Club.

With a long background in the field of illustration, Linda Cheek brings a refreshing spontaneous feel to her disciplined images.

Cheek received her formal education from Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL. Linda’s biographical listings include “Who’s who in American Art.” She is also a published book illustrator and her art can be found in many private and corporate collections. In the past few years, he work has been shown in auction houses such as Ken Farmer Auction of Virginia and Skinner in Boston, MA. Cheek is a signature member of the Western North Carolina Plein Air Painters (WNCPAP).
