Taylor began her study of impressionism in 1991 with Lois Griffel at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, MA, going back many times to study with Griffel and other instructors who taught the traditional technique of the Cape Cod School of Art. She has also studied with a number of other prominent artist/instructors including: Tom Browning, Robert Johnson, Ann Templeton, Bob Rohm, Camille Przewodek, Charles Sovek, Ben Konis, Kenn Backhaus, Doug Dawson, Gay Faulkenberry, M Kathryn Massey, Roberta Remy, Richard McKinley, Zoltan Szabo, and others.

Taylor is an invited painting advisor of the Highlands Art Union and a signature member of the Western North Carolina Plein Air Painters. Taylor has received many awards including “Best of Show ,” “Who’s Who in the South,” “Who’s Who in America”. The highlight of her career was being asked to participate in a private exhibition for His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah ibn Turki Al Saud in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. She is in the book Best of NC Artists 2005. Her works can be found in the corporate collections of Harbor Enterprises in Syros, Greece; the Carver Bible College in Atlanta, GA.; the Carolina Mountain Land Conservatory, NC; The Lobster Trap in Asheville, NC, the City of Sparks, Nevada; and private collections in the USA, Saudi Arabia, Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Canada, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Lebanon, and the Philippines.

Peggy Horne Taylor began painting in 1980, today she is devoted to painting oil and pastel impressionistic works in both regular size and miniature. She lived in Saudi Arabia for 30 years and many of her works are inspired by the Middle East and her travels. Formerly the Director of Willow Wisp Farm Studios, a small art school in Fairview, North Carolina; specializing in plein-air painting, Taylor currently operates her studio and gallery with the same name. Her works are available at the Design Gallery in Burnsville, NC and Willow Wisp Farm Studios & Gallery in Fairview, NC.
